Professor David Gillatt is a leading UK Urological Surgeon specialising in prostate and bladder cancer, general urology and men’s health. He is recognised as one of the world’s foremost robotic surgeons having pioneered the modern application of robotic techniques in the treatment of both prostate and bladder cancer.
Professor Gillatt has completed more than 2000 major resections during his career. He is particularly experienced in minimally invasive procedures, having performed over 1,000 surgeries, including prostatectomy, cystectomy and reconstruction and partial nephrectomy.
After completing his medical and surgical training in the UK, Prof. Gillatt undertook urological malignancy at the worldrenowned Bristol Royal Infirmary and at Southmead Hospital. As a Consultant Urological Surgeon, he performed advanced urological cancer surgery there for more than 20 years.
In 2014, Prof. Gillatt immigrated to Sydney, Australia, leaving behind a formidable footprint as the Professor and Director of the eminent Bristol Urological Institute, where he established the world-class Prostate Cancer Care and Research Centre, now a leading research organisation for urology in the UK.
