Coming into Hospital can bring with it lots of questions and sometimes anxiety. Here at Waratah, we want to help you be as well prepared as possible for your stay. Waratah Private partners with the leading specialist clinicians in NSW. Our specialists consult from our spacious, modern permanent and sessional private consulting suites and out of our 7 state-of-the-art operating theatres equipped with the latest technology, equipment and instruments.

Admissions

On the day of your admission, our friendly admissions officer will assist you to complete all of your admission paperwork. You will also be allocated a nurse who will complete the relevant paperwork.

Our services and facilities continue to expand at Waratah Private Hospital with our café restaurant, Café Sante serving a premium quality café experience to our patients, visiting medical officers, staff and visitors.

Health funds

Our Hospital has contract agreements in place with the majority of Australian health funds, however not all health funds cover the same components of hospital stay. Consequently, excess and gap payments may apply on admission.

How to get to Waratah

Our landmark Waratah Private Hospital site is located in the heart of Hurstville, 20-minutes from Sydney’s CBD and the gateway to Sydney’s south-western corridor accessible through an integrated public transport network and with ample parking in our secure underground carpark onsite.

What to pack

Any health fund or entitlement cards, e.g. Medicare, Safety Net, Veterans’ Affairs. If proof of entitlements are not presented, full costs will be charged. Any paperwork not already forwarded to the hospital

Parking

Our patients are able to drive to appointments with their doctors at Waratah Private and park directly on-site in our hospital’s secure underground carpark. Access to the carpark is via Dora Street.

Visitors hours

Monday – Sunday: 10am – 8pm
We believe that family and friends are important to patient recovery. Should you wish to visit outside of these hours, this may be arranged with the nursing staff following admission.

Discharge

When a patient discharges from Waratah Private Hospital, every care and attention is taken by our staff to ensure this transition from hospital to home care is smooth and seamless. Transport arrangements need to be made on the day before discharge
